I had the same problem, i also had difficulty reading from projectors/smart boards at school.
I finally realized i needed reading glasses. But before i used glasses, i just played some music to distract me. My advice is going to the eye doctor… you might think you see fine but in reality you will need some type of eye glass.

I don’t think you can do anything to help it. Reading books the classical way is much better, relaxing and it can not screw up your eyes. Anyway, I know what you mean, and te best thing for you to do right now is to either print those books from your laptop (you’ll sure waste a ton of paper and printer color) or buy them from a bookstore.

If you’re serious about the digital book thing you might want to consider getting an e-reader. If you get one with an e-ink screen (no backlight, no color), it reads just like paper so you don’t get the eye strain you get with a computer.

I have a NOOK I love but Amazon makes the Kindle, Sony makes a few, and I think Borders has one or will have one soon.

Just an idea because there really isn’t a way to make it comfortable to read on a computer. Just make sure that the e-reader supports the format your e-books are in.
